How is the percentage of compensation calculated?

ASBL/VZW TRIP totals up the amounts of all known and forecast claims. This information is supplied to a Committee, which checks whether the maximum available amount will suffice to fully cover all claims.

It may be that the Committee foresees that the total amount of the claims will exceed the maximum available amount, or that it does not have enough information to determine whether or not the maximum available amount will suffice. In this case, the Committee sets a (provisional) percentage of compensation.
