After the terrorist event, the Committee sets a percentage of compensation as soon as possible. Once this percentage has been set, the first compensation payments can be made.
The Committee then checks at least every 6 months whether or not the percentage of compensation needs to be changed. The final percentage of compensation is set at the latest on 31 December of the third year which follows the year of the terrorist event.
