ASBL/VZW TRIP (Terrorism Reinsurance and Insurance Pool) was founded jointly by Assuralia and several insurance companies. The members of ASBL/VZW TRIP are the insurance companies included in the list, as well as reinsurance companies and the Belgian Joint Motor Guarantee Fund (FCGA/GMWF).
The total compensation to be paid by all members of ASBL/VZW TRIP further to terrorist acts is limited to €1 billion per calendar year. In theory, this means that, together, they will not pay out more than €1 billion. ASBL/VZW TRIP also creates a solidarity system between its members : the compensation to be paid by a member is apportioned between all members.
